Happy 35th Anniversary Mark and Lynda!! 🎉🥂 Always happy to see couples that are able to keep a marriage fun and make it through the good and the bad!
My husband and I met at 16. Had our son at 17. Got married at 18. And now, at age 64, we will celebrate 46 years of marriage in October. Has it all been peaches and cream? No way! But we have continued to grow together through it all and are more in love now than ever.
Keep it up!! (Hee hee) Love the show. Have listened for so long, almost feel like family.
Enjoy your day! ❤️

Hey Mark & Lynda this is Pete L, I am the guy that had the two words for the guy who’s brother wanted him to move out of his house so the brother could visit the parents alone last year in November. My two words were Fuck You!
Anyway just wanted to say congrats on the anniversary, you two are lucky to have found each other and lucky to have realized it takes work on both sides to maintain a successful relationship.
You guys have the kind of relationship that I had always wanted to have, but sadly it has never happened for me, nor do I think it ever will. It is not from trying though, I have tried I have been married twice, but both marriages failed for a number of reasons and there is blame on both sides.
The statement about being lonely is really bad for a person’s health is true. There is nothing worse than living a long and lonely life. I know because I live that very kind of life. The last time I had someone in my life was over 13 years ago. The last time I received a phone call from a friend just wanting to say hello and how are you was in the year 2013. The only time I hear from my brother and sister is on my birthday, otherwise I never hear from them at all.
Throughout the last 14 years I have had a German Shepherd named Amara. She has been my one true friend and even though she could not speak, we were able to communicate with each other. Any pet owner will relate to that; animals just have a way of telling you how they feel.
Well on July 24th I had to put Amara down she had developed lung cancer. She was at an advance age with some other problems that she probably would not have survived the treatment for the cancer. So I had to let go my one true and only friend in this world! The pain of losing Amara is incredible and I don’t wish it on anyone. The tears come without warning on a daily bias. There are days when I just walk through the house not knowing what I am doing or why!
The purpose of me telling you and the listeners of the podcast about my life is one of a caution tale. If anyone reads this and you have a friend that you have not called in a long time, call them, because you never know what road that person’s life has gone down and they may be like me. That one call just to say hello could mean more than you will ever know!
Call your friends stay in touch with them and not just on Facebook. I have hundreds of friends on Facebook who I communicate with a lot, but I never actually speak to them. Facebook is a great way to get back in touch with your friends, but typing on a computer is just not the same as actually talking to someone!
Again congrats Mark & Lynda on the anniversary you guys have the kind of relationship that most people dream of having and you are a great example for your kids and the rest of us stupid replaceable listeners!
Sincerely
Pete
PS: Sorry for the long message but it was necessary to tell my story.
Happy Anniversary. Hope you enjoy your ‘total eclipse of the sun’ day!
Thanks for the 1982 trivia. I loved the music portion, especially the alternative rock – ie: Human League, and Mickey.
Lynda I watch Marley and me after we put our 14 year old golden to sleep. I was at work and had a slow day, I was sobbing. To this day I cannot watch another dog movie no matter what it is.
Happy anniversary, M&L. Here is more 1982 music trivia that was not covered by Mark. On the 3rd week of August 1982, the #1 song in England was Come On Eileen, by Dexy’s Midnight Runners. That was 1 of Mark’s fave songs from his list on the previous podcast. Isn’t that sweet Lynda? Mark probably liked the song so much because it’s a fun, happy song and he was hearing it a lot while he was planning his life with you. Since you were the only thing he probably had on his mind at the time, he may have subconsciously been thinking of you whenever he heard the song and maybe that’s why he likes it so much!

Bet you didn’t know: the Eileen in the video for “Come On Eileen” is the sister of Siobhan Fahey? She is one of the three performers in Bananarama.
