The Motown list was great, but like any list it left off many many songs that should have been on it. Of course any list of songs is always going to be subjective because we all have different likes and dislikes, but that is what makes music so cool. A song one person might not like at all, is loved by someone else!
Anyway here is a list of 5 songs that I thought should have been on the list. I could have come up with a lot more than 5 but thought 5 was good enough.
Not in any particular order
1) Thank You Sly & The Family Stone
2) It’s The Same Old Song The 4 Tops
3) Get Ready The Temptations
4) War Edwin Star
5) Tears Of A Clown Smokey Robinson
This episode was one of the best shows so far. I always love it when Mark has a list of songs to countdown. His presentation skills and just the way he presents the show is always like a masterpiece. In my opinion a show like this is always memorable. Thank you Mark and Linda for your podcast, it is one of the things that I look forward to most. Blessings to you and all the family
RG, The Temptations are great, but i beg to differ, I prefer I Can’t Get Next To You Girl than Papa was a Rolling Stone. Papa takes to long to get going while I Can’t Get, starts right off the bat and doesn’t stop
Great list, both of them. There were some missing but you can’t avoid that. Will miss you next week, but I will listen to an old show. Good luck with the alien baby😁. Take care ya all love ya

I had to comment twice because I listened to this show twice specifically to enjoy Skid Marky Mark DJ again, something that is tragically missing from this world! And knowing how much Lynda enjoys it too I bet there was some banging after the show!! Love you guys!❤
Loved the hell outta the Motown show!!!! I would add: Got To Give It Up-Marvin Gaye, Shinning Star-Earth, Wind & Fire, Love Train-The O’Jays, Me & Mrs Jones-Billy Paul, Use Me-Bill Withers, Aint No Woman (Like The One I Got)-The Four Tops……I could go on & on & on! Motown & Funk are the basis of so many genres of music!!!! Love it!!! ❤❤❤
Mark, so Lionel Ritchie wrote “Easy” in the same diner booth you sat in. Good thing he didn’t know that at the time, because instead of “Easy like a Sunday morning” the song would have been “Easy like Mark the slut”. Oh, Lynda, thanks for recommending “Sharp Objects”. I got the book so I can read it in the dark at night right before going to sleep. It will be nice to have a sweet little story to read so I can have sweet little dreams.
PS-My favorite Motown song was “Oh No” by the Commodores

I’m not going to say the “K” word, but I hope Matt is getting royalties every show for his contribution. 🙂
