Hey Congrats to Bramy!!!! So excited for you two! I want to give Amy some of my two cents which I figured out in my early 20’s… When I heard the DVD podcast before Amy’s reunion (gonna party!) and Amy’s hungover situation after her reunion (ugh) it reminded me of college. On the nights when I was really set to party, I got drunk, got hungover, and regretted it. But on nights when I decided I would take it easy, I was in control. My self-taught lesson in my 20s was that if I chose early on which type of night it truly would be, that’s how it turned out. I’m passing this on to Amy because she may want her night to go a certain way on her wedding day!! Best wishes! (And yes, Mark, my suspicion is that Bradley is indeed fucking Amy)
I grew up listening to M and B since the early 1990’s when KCLB picked them up in Palm Springs all the way up to your final day in 2012. You always talked about the importance of family and communication. So it suprises me that Amy has an issue any time you talk about important parts of your life and the kids aren’t brought up, but she openly admits that she would only live next to her parents solely to visit the dog.
Give Mark a break guys, he talked about you almost daily about how important you all were to him for 20+ years on the radio. It sounds like he still takes care of you with concerts and connections he has. Just wanted to point that out as it bugs me a tad.
Love both shows, thank you so much for the entertainment over the last three decades.
A little Schooling!!!
The Donner Party, or Donner-Reed Party, was a group of American pioneers led by George Donner and James F. Reed who set out for California in a wagon train in May 1846. They were delayed by a series of mishaps and mistakes, and spent the winter of 1846โ47 snowbound in the Sierra Nevada. Some of the pioneers resorted to cannibalism to survive.
The journey west usually took between four and six months, but the Donner Party was slowed by following a new route called Hastings Cutoff, which crossed Utah’s Wasatch Mountains and Great Salt Lake Desert. The rugged terrain and difficulties encountered while traveling along the Humboldt River in present-day Nevada resulted in the loss of many cattle and wagons, and caused splits within the group.
By the beginning of November 1846, the settlers had reached the Sierra Nevada where they became trapped by an early, heavy snowfall near Truckee (now Donner) Lake, high in the mountains. Their food supplies ran extremely low and, in mid-December, some of the group set out on foot to obtain help. Rescuers from California attempted to reach the settlers, but the first relief party did not arrive until the middle of February 1847, almost four months after the wagon train had become trapped. Of the 87 members of the party, 48 survived to reach California, many of them having eaten the dead for survival.
PIX of the puppy!!! And Luna Tuna sounds like a cool name because it’s a cat food. PLUS, funny Keeping up with Kardashians–joke on This Is Us series premier about Kardashian family being like gremlins–they just keep reproducing–was exactly the day three of them all announced their babies due in January.
Regarding your comment about the Donner Party..
They traveled by wagon train in 1846 through the Sierra Nevada mountains. They were finally rescued in 1847, but not before they had to resort to cannibalism.
So..not a plane crash.
Love the shows! All of you are very entertaining!
The plane crash where they had to eat some of the dead to survive happened in 1972; the plane carrying the Rugby team from Uruguay crashed in the Andes Mountains.
Sorry to correct the radio God but , The Donner party were a group of settlers in the mid 1800s that were coming out to California. It was not an airplane crash. Airplanes did not start flying until the 1900s
