Mark and Lynda, thank you for sharing your experiences. We had to put down our sweet girl last night. Your stories helped us know that we were doing the right thing for her.
Here’s something for you guys to listen to while watching the sunset at the dock. It’s been 50 years since the Jackson 5 released “I want you back”, and this group does a good review in the vein of Cool Stories in Music. Yes, the music is from the Funk Brothers. Yes, the lyrics were way too serious to be sung by a 10 year old. But it was their first serious hit and was HUGE. Given the complicated life of MJ, do we celebrate? Enjoy! Love you guys!
I can’t remember if you guys watch Riverdale, if not, you need to watch the season premiere. It’s all about the character Fred Andrews passing. It’s a great tribute to your good friend Luke Perry. You don’t really need to watch the show to appreciate the sentiment. It’s a great tribute to a great guy! I was balling my eyes out the entire hour. I’m sure you can find it on the CW app.

Lynda, Lynda may I please get a birthday chicken?
My 52nd birthday was 10/6 and my friend Jamie loves hearing it when she listens to the podcasts!
Thank you, love you guys!
Me love you long time RG, And Lynda the second part of his career is even better with the podcast and you!!. Just a suggestion? Maybe some Christian Hand doing an interesting piece of a song would be funny. Kinda taps into the cool stories and he would call you out on the fact that you probably was at the last Beethoven show cuz your fucking old and crusty….LOL JK Love all you do…:)
Hey Mark,
After enjoying your Top 10 One Hit Wonders list, I researched Ranker.com because of all the crap that’s was thrown at you for presenting fun facts for our entertainment. They compile their lists through their website based on fan voting. They also claim that this list only contains hits that made the Top 40. I also researched Billboard.com for Top 40 hits by The Proclaimers and they only list the one hit you mentioned…”I’m Gonna Be (500Miles)”. I hope this helps because it appears I have way too much time on my hands!
Fruit Salad Trees are just an expansion on normal fruit tree horticulture. Most commercial fruit trees are grown as two trees. Orchards want a tree with strong roots that are resistant to disease and pests, but these trees do not generally produce high quality fruits. Trees that produce desirable quality commercial fruits often have roots susceptible to diseases and pests. The growers’ solution is to plant a tree with strong roots and then cut off the trunk of the tree a few inches above the ground and transplant the top of a desirable tree into this root stock trunk.
A fruit salad tree is just doing this with two or more compatible fruit stocks into the same root stock trunk so basically you have a tree with two, three, four, or more trunk branches coming out of one root trunk each one growing a different fruit.
Hey L & M, you and others keep mentioning Mark’s painting. Where are the pic’s posted? I have looked on the Facebook pages and the website couldn’t find them. I would love to see what you all are talking about. Help out one of your stupid listeners.

Hi Mark & Lynda, I thought Mark might want to take up a new hobby with his power washer. Apparently, power washing art is a thing. A friend shared this post with me. https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=2397747500463909&id=100006860479390

The one hit wonder list missed the best all time one hit wonder “Brandy” by Looking Glass. That’s the best of all time by far.
