Just over a week ago my oldest daughter got married, one of the nightmares was the seating chart for the reception. Both my youngest daughter and I offered to create the seating chart for the reception. My ex-wife and oldest daughter decided to change the seating. My table wasn’t super bad, I wanted to sit with my kids before my siblings. I am close to all of them I just don’t get to spend as much time with my kids as I do my siblings.
An embarrassing situation is my ex-wife got very drunk and was grinding on guys she was dancing with at the reception. Her date left early after dinner, he is recovering from a couple of surgeries and just doesn’t have the energy to stay out that long.
Good luck with your wedding plans and the upcoming wedding Amy.
Love all of you. Have been listening since October 1st 1987.
Heading to work and was fortunate to listen to the last moments of The Sound. Yeah, I know they were assholes to you Mark, but really it was the only good station we had out here and I gotta admit, i was a little teary-eyed. So instead of listening to some other shitty station, I listened instead to the D-V-D November 1st episode and the 1st thing you asked Katie was, how the mood at the station was knowing they were going to be ending soon and the reply from Katie was one the most fantastic belches I have heard in a long time. I laughed so hard I think I peed myself a little. Thank you for that! Like I told my daughter, I guess its podcasts and Spotify from here on out. Love you guys.
Sad to read, tomorrow, Wednesday, is last FULL day of “100.3 The Sound”. Mark, it was great listening to you on that station! But, I remember listening to Katie, “Chick on the Street” (Loved the song Andy did for intro), and was blown away how talented SHE was! Glad you guys have “DVD”, so you can still work together! Will miss that great rock station.
See this link. Andy did great You Tube video of song he made and video montage of everybody who worked at station (Mark, you are in it a lot).
Addressing Wedding invites – We did all of ours with clear labels from staples on a nice font. Did the invites, thank you notes & responses. It cost a total of $20.00!
AND GILRS!!! This Friday Nov 17th in Westwood/UCLA there is a new ULTA store opening!!!
Amy, I’m glad you save lots of money by using coupons. Why don’t you find a coupon for Mark to attend a “How To Speak English Class”? (See title of podcast for proof that it would be a good investment)
In regards to your cake and the cutting fees…I did not agree that I should pay anyone to slice a freaking cake SO I got individual cakes for each table from VONS, yes you read that right, VONS, and had each table cut their own cake with cutting utensils from the 99 cent store. I know it’s not a fancy cake place, but I only paid $6/cake (they were 6″ rounds to feed 8-10 people) and it acted as a neat center piece. I did have more than just the cake as the center piece, there were flowers and a candles and vases, but I probably only paid $20/center piece. Big Plus – VONS delivered for free because of my large order (30 tables = 30 cakes). Just make sure your venue accepts outside vendors for your requested services.
As for the taste, it’s nothing special but does the job. And if your guests complain you just say “it’s fucking FREE CAKE!!!! Just eat the damn thing and be happy I didn’t charge you an entrance fee to party.”
Loving the show! You all are fucking fantastic – keep doing what you do!!!!
Katie — OMG, what an amazing idea! Don’t know of anyone in my circle getting married anytime soon but I would certainly suggest this to them. Again, a great idea and you are a gal that knows how to work a budget. Way to go!
If you are having kids at the wedding have a kids table with coloring books and stuff for them to do. Have them make a picture for the bride and groom. or write a nice letter to them.
Katie can sit with them and play!~ LOL
This is for Katie. Instead of getting another shade for your window, get a sleep mask. I work the same crazy hours that you do & I use a sleep mask when I go to sleep & it’s still light out. I was skeptical at first, but it really does work.

Any chance that you might add Andy Chanley to any of your shows now that 100.3 FM is becoming a christian broadcast channel.
