I really appreciate all your shows (except Cool Stories In Music which, sadly, I have yet to experience – really oughta be a podcast!).   2. I really loved this podcast. It was so exciting for me to hear my brother, Tom, on the show. I love how Lynda was so excited to hear from him too. It was great she remembered us. Tom’s shout out to me was the best Christmas present. I love Mark. Of course, he is great. But the best thing about Mark is Lynda. Lynda by far is the Radio Goddess. I got to listen to Mark & Brian for a few years and thought they were great. But when the Mark & Lynda podcast came out, I knew this was the only show for me. I need more Lynda in my life!!!! I am an Amazon whore. I shop Amazon like I did the Mark & Lynda store. I am your #1 customer.

  5. Great podcast as usual, and I hope you had a fantastic Christmas!!! As one of your Jewish listeners (to Mark for over 25 years), here’s how Hanukkah and Christmas worked for me as a kid. I was never jealous of Christmas. That’s what other people do – WE do our thing. We always got our “big” gift on the first night of Hanukkah, then the other 7 nights we got smaller things or things like mittens, socks, and other things we “needed” anyway. We thought it was great to have 8 nights of presents! When I was in elementary school, we had neighbors across the street who had grown children, and they always invited my sister and me to help decorate their tree on Christmas Eve. We always enjoyed that, especially the cookies! I would try and stay up late to look out my bedroom window which faced my Christian nextdoor neighbors so I could see Santa go down their chimney, but of course I never made it. Hanukkah is a very minor Jewish Holiday, compared to Christmas which is pretty major. I never want equal time, but I light my candles still and celebrate Christmas with others. Happy New Year to the Thompsons!!

  7. Merry Christmas to Mark & Lynda and the whole Thompson family!! I hope you all have a great and fun Christmas, knowing what little of the family that I do from the podcasts I am sure it will be a fun day for all of you.

    As for me this Christmas will be the same as many of my past Christmases. I will spend it alone with my best and really my only friend my German Shepherd Dog Amara. I have gotten used to this so it is not all that bad. Someday maybe that will change, in the mean time I will just smile and keep on trying to be positive and look forward to next year when things may be different.

    Anyway Merry Christmas everyone I hope everyone has a great day!!

As soon as the show started, Mark said the 2 worst Christmas Songs of all time and I instantly thought of that steaming pile of garbage, “It’s going to be a Real old Fashion Christmas” that Mark played last year!! I haven’t even gotten ten minutes into the show and that to me, has got to be the WORST Christmas Song of all time!!!

    • Happy Holidays Thompsons and all listeners! OK, here is the deal. The immaculate reception is arguably the single most talked about play in the history of the NFL. John “Frenchy” Fuqua runs a 25 yard go route and Bradshaw was running for his life. As Bradshaw was almost sacked he throws to Fuqua and “The Assassin” Jack Tatum collides with Frenchy as the ball arrives and Franco scopes up the ball and runs for the TD. The controversy? Did the ball hit the ground? In 1972 they had only one camera. Only one view. After 44 years it’s still considered as one of the top 10 single plays in NFL history. The Steelers who were perennial losers at the time went on to win 4 super bowls in the 70’s and added two more in the 2000’s to become the only team currently with 6 rings! How many do the Panthers have Mark?

  11. OMG the discussion regarding Mark & fire made me laugh out loud. FYI-so good call Lynda to not let Mark near open flame with chestnuts. I’ve roasted fucking chestnuts & almost started my house on fire cause a couple popped open & fly onto the carpet
