I always enjoy the show and have been listening to you since the mid 90s. This is not a political question, but rather one with a historical context. With you being born and growing up in the South, were you aware of segregation? Did you know anyone that was impacted by it? Did that shape your upbringing in any way?
Happy birthday you old geezer! Heidi and Frank mentioned your birthday on Monday as they listed famous people’s birthdays and they really paid you a lot of compliments, including how great you look at 70! Then on their history quiz they said 70 years ago is when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white passenger on the bus… that was in Montgomery! They were blown away that 2 bits of history happened on that exact same date, same year, in ALABAMA! Hope you have had fun celebrating!

Here is a Elvis related story you might enjoy!
Elvis-loving St. Charles County judge forced to retire after dressing like his idol
A Missouri judge, Matthew Thornhill, has agreed to resign after being found guilty of misconduct, including wearing an Elvis Presley-inspired wig and playing the singer’s music in court. The Missouri Commission on Retirement, Removal, and Discipline determined that Thornhill failed to maintain courtroom decorum and engaged in political activities while conducting court business.
Thornhill wore the Elvis wig on October 31 and made frequent references to Elvis and his songs during proceedings. He also asked litigants if they wanted to be sworn in to Elvis music. Thornhill defended his actions, stating he intended to “add levity” and help relax litigants. However, he later acknowledged that his behavior could undermine the integrity of the court.

The musical birthday gift from Matt & Eleni is the best. It moved me to tears (and dance). You’re right! Homemade gifts are the greatest.
