Mark… I know the list of movies and programs to watch in your theater must be a dauntingly extensive. But if you have not seen, let alone heard of a movie entitled Searching For Sugarman, you need to add it to your list.
I stumbled upon it yesterday on Netflix and it simply blew me away. We obviously don’t have the time here for a synopsis and that would spoil it anyway. If you search for it you’ll find the trailer. It won the Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2012 and is rated 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. It holds up so well and has a timeless relevance and humanity. Anyone, rich or poor, who is not moved to tears near the end simply has no heart. And so it need to go on the list.
Thank You for the years of M&B, but especially now for the Mark & Lynda Podcast. I believe the work you’re doing now truly has the potential to eclipse the past – if not in quantity, certainly in quality.
All the best to you and yours this holiday season.
Hello, my BFF’s (that’s what I tell all my real friends)….I want to thank you. You have no idea how important you are to this SRL. M&B helped me through the death of my Dad and brother, many years ago and yes 911 and the days and weeks that followed.
I am writing today, as your already helping me through another incredibly awful chapter, as my Mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given a couple of months.
You’ve helped my brain get away from that, even if it’s only for a brief time. I even love the reruns.
Thank you, sincerely for all you do….
Every year you and the girls rag on the movie Christmas Story. I think if you research the author and narrator, who also appeared in it, you will have a greater appreciation. Jean Parker Shepard was a very famous radio personality who told stories and wrote books. He won the Mark Twain humor award. If you learn about him and his stories the movie will make much more sense. It is genius. I was lucky enough to see him at Carnegie Hall before he died.
Hey Mark & Lynda, I am so glad you answered the phone for my brother, Tom! I miss you guys taking calls from Listeners. It is just fun to hear listeners bull shit with you. You never know what they are going to say.
This time of year, I can’t wait to hear Grab-n-gabs (story telling Elf) tell a dirty story. My stories are never as funny as Mark’s. Boyfriend’s grandkids love playing with my story telling Elf. I have to make sure my last story is G rated or Grandpa will kick my ass. By the way, my boyfriend is going to be 69 in January. I need some ideas of something special I can do for that horny old bastard to make his birthday special. Anyway, I love your show and life would suck without you two!!!

Here I sit in the Davidoff cigar lounge in Vegas enjoying a fine smoke when all of a sudden Tom Jones Help Yourself blasts over the speakers.
All I could hear In my head was the world famous M&B horns.
I think the whole place stopped to stare at me laughing my ass off.
Thank you M&L for continuing the tradition of making us all enjoy life a little bit more.

Mark check your facts. In what year is it the year that included the Pat Benatar song We belong was actually 1984 not 1985.

You should have done the drone picture of the 2 of you as your Xmas card. Even if you only sent to your Family. Would have been so special for them.
