Use this page to say hey, ask a question (which probably won’t get answered), or just to kiss the RG’s ass.

Hi Mark, I just wanted to say how wonderful it was hearing you and Gina together. I laughed my ass off! It reminded me how much I miss Mark in the Morning. It really was brilliant radio. But on a serious note, over the past year I lost my dad, who I was very close with. My grandmother, who I was very close with, and a family member was diagnosed with lung and brain cancer. Though I have been present for everything, I’ve been working with a therapist, and I have an incredible wife and family, I think when Gina said, “I’m in pain.” It described it perfectly how I feel. I thought after a year of losing my dad, it would hurt less. But honestly it probably hurts more. You never get too old to want advice. It’s the little things that hurt. Thank you Mark for allowing Gina to talk about this and to you Gina for sharing. It’s greatly appreciated.

    Hi Mark,
Loved to hear the lyrics from the Andy Griffin show, never knew that it had words to the melody. I agree that ear buds are the most under rated best device, got’a love the noise cancelation feature. Keep doing what YOU do Mr. SL!

Oh goodness… Loved Loved Loved Paul Harvey!!!! Used to listen to him with my parents as a four year old at lunchtime. Campbells Alphabet soup and a slice of Wonder toast with butter!!! And now you know the rest of the story!!! You are Paul Harvey for my kids… I think he was a bit of a better influence. Ah fuck it… Love You!!!

Hey Mark. Great great interview with Gina. I occasionally do listen to The Woody show on my drive-in and it was refreshing to hear her joining the crew a while back. Her interview with you was so enlightening and compassionate. To hear her talk about the love she had for her dad and the traumatic experience of having lost him and then dealing with family….. that’s a lot we all can relate with. And to have the emotional condition titled Grief Burst given to us…. That helps all of us deal with uncontrolled emotional moments. Gina is…always a joy and I hope she comes back to your show soon. Thank you for bringing her in…..now go get Dwight.

    Hey RG!

I’m catching up. I’m here, for trashcan talk. My opinion – if you leave your trashcans out past the pick up day (Wednesday for you), I get to throw my dog’s sticky poop sacks in your trashcan. I may be in the wrong, but so are you for leaving your trashcans out. But if you are too lazy to bring them thrashcans in, I’m using them.

    Mark
I really miss Cool Stories in Music. That was my favorite podcast while it ran, and I still love it when you sneak one into What You Do. My all time favorite cool story was the episode about Badfinger and I listened to it a number of times. I’m not sure if you caught the story or not, but Joey Molland, the last surviving member of Badfinger passed away last week from complications of diabetes, bringing a very sad story to a close. What happened to that band was just awful.

Anyway, just wanted to share that news. Love the show and I look forward to it every week. Thanks so much for what YOU do.

Mark I have a serious question to ask
Why didn’t you ever consider starting or buying a radio station after your time at The Sound or KLOS or partnering with a group.

    Thanks,
    William

Every week I look forward to hearing the “What You Do” theme song. Eleni and Matt are so talented!
I have loved Gina Grad since “Mark in the Morning.” I wouldn’t mind if she was a regular contributor to your show. She is the Radio Goddess.

Hi Mark, I miss Lynda. The two of you are a lot like my husband and I. We’ve been married 54 years, 55 in May, we just turned 73 years old. Congratulations on the birth of Atlas. We have been blessed with our 2nd Great-Grandson last Friday, 2/28/2025. Bentley and mom, our granddaughter, are healthy and doing great. I enjoyed your past episodes with Chuck, Andy, and looking forward to Gina. I have been a fan since your 3rd week at KLOS, followed you to Mark In The Morning and all your podcasts. Loved your book. I have both the hard cover and the audible, so I can hear your “”Radio God” voice whenever I choose. Welcome back to California. Yes, I know it’s part-time. Love the Thompson Family.

In the “mark this under big brother is listening”, I listened to “Guess What The Kid Ate” this morning and less than three hours later I get an e-mail for “Battle of the Bands” Gino Vannelli at the Saban Theater. I hope you get your plumbing issue fixed without breaking the bank, and I have to admit I thought for sure you were going to say the color of the water was brown not red. Hope to hear this during the Letters segment along with a big Fuck You!

Mark have you watched the new documentary Yacht Rock on HBO Max? It is so good you’ll see most of the members of Toto along with many others of the 80s influencers. It was thoroughly enjoyable I think you would love it.
