I enjoyed your interview with Tom Bergeron. I love his sense of humor. I watched Dancing with Sharks. It sure isn’t what you normally see for Shark Week. Who knew someone could be that close to sharks and not be bitten? It was entertaining but I’m not sure I will watch it again, except to see Tom.

He now faces multiple charges for aggravated assault

A Florida man was arrested last week after he allegedly tried to run over a group of kids with his car after they “ding-dong ditched” his home.

Collier County Sheriff’s Office records reviewed by PEOPLE show that John P. Albanos was arrested on July 12 and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with the intent to commit a felony.

Albanos, 51, was released on bond the next day and is due back in court in early August, records show. A spokesperson for the Naples Police Department did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment Thursday on Albanos’ arrest.

According to the local Gulf Coast News, the 51-year-old man was at his home in Naples, Fla., when three kids approached his home, rang the doorbell, and ran away. The outlet, citing a police report, reported that the kids were riding on scooters and had played the prank on multiple homes along the block of 28th Ave. in town.

Albanos did not take kindly to the prank, according to the Gulf Coast News, which reported that police allege he grew angry with the kids, got in his car, and began to chase them down the street as they ran away.

Eventually, according to the news outlet, the kids ran into a neighboring yard to avoid getting hit by Albanos and a neighbor who witnessed the incident called 911 after trying to steer Albanos’ attention away from the children.

You mentioned the return of Coke Classic on This Day in History. I normally don’t buy into conspiracy theories but one I firmly believe in is that New Coke was planned to fail so CocaCola could change the original recipe from cane sugar to High Fructose Corn Syrup. People would have noticed if they just changed it out of nowhere. Replacing the classic recipe with a subpar product gave us enough of a distraction and pause from the original recipe that people didn’t notice the difference when it returned. And it was close enough that people were just related to have it back.

Anyway, just thought I’d share and maybe you’ll share your thoughts on a future episode. Styx tickets??

Hello Mark. I was recently driving across country and needed to listen to something completely annoying to keep me awake. You came to mind immediately and I decided to check to see if, at your advanced age, you were still doing a podcast. Low and behold there you were waxing poetic about Florida, titties, and Octopuss as you say it. I was an active listener from day 1 in the KLOS days, contributed as much content as I could via the phones, and loved every minute of it. I even did a stupid what would you do for SuperBowl tickets stunt where I jumped in a pool of nacho cheese and had my brother eat nachos off my belly and face. Long story longer, I now split my time between Dallas Texas and Northern Maine where I have chased my radio dream for now 38 years. You’ve mentioned that you make no money on your podcast, so I’m proud to say I’m finally making slightly more than you in broadcasting. Hope you are doing well. Suck a dick old man. Kevin out.

Fun facts for the RG from Monkeyboy.

    1. 🐙 Octopuses have three hearts and blue blood.

Two hearts pump blood to the gills, and one pumps it to the rest of the body. And yes — their blood is blue because it’s copper-based!

    ⸻

    2. 🦦 Otters hold hands when they sleep.

This prevents them from floating away from each other. It’s called a “raft” of otters — pure cuteness with a sprinkle of practicality.

    ⸻

    3. 🐐 Goats have rectangular pupils.

Their bizarre eyes give them panoramic vision — great for spotting predators on open terrain.

    ⸻

    4. 🐌 Some snails can sleep for up to three years.

They do this to survive dry conditions. It’s less “nap” and more “hibernation marathon.”

    ⸻

    5. 🐘 Elephants can “hear” with their feet.

They detect low-frequency rumbles through vibrations in the ground. Elephant group chats, but make it seismic.

    ⸻

    6. 🐛 Caterpillars completely liquefy inside their cocoons.

Before turning into butterflies, they literally dissolve into goo — then reorganize into a new body. Gross and magical.

    ⸻

    7. 🦘 Kangaroos can’t walk backward.

Their muscular tail and long feet make reversing nearly impossible. They’re always moving forward — metaphor much?

    ⸻

    8. 🐙 Some male octopuses detach their mating arm and gift it to the female.

Romantic? Maybe. Weird? Definitely. In some species, the arm swims away on its own to deliver sperm.

    ⸻

    9. 🦒 Giraffes only need 5–30 minutes of sleep per day.

They take tiny power naps while standing — and somehow still function.

    ⸻

    10. 🐟 Parrotfish poop sand.

They eat coral and excrete it as sand — which means many tropical beaches are… recycled coral poop. You’re welcome

    Wow Man…
I was not expecting my follow up comment to trigger a mini tribute to Kevin Gilbert…

But… I was so touched that it did…

I wanted to keep my retort short and sweet but truth be told…

Because of the Mark & Brian show I became a life long fan of Toy Matinee… song craft aside it is one of the best produced albums you will ever hear…

Kevin was very much involved with Sheryl Crowes first album Tuesday Night Music Club… she pretty much screwed him over and the Song The Ballad Of Jenny Ledge is a nod to that…

Anyone interested in his stuff should check out the album you almost got right you old fart! 😊😊😊

Not the Taming Of The Shrew
But… The Shaming Of The True…

    …and another fantastic album..
    Thud.

It just goes to show “What You Do”… creates ripples throughout so many lives…

Iam 57 now… still turning youngsters on to the genius that is Kevin Gilbert and Toy Matinee…

So… sincerely.. and in the nicest possible way… Fuck Off.
    😁

Yes, you have done some wonderful interviews over the years. Some high powered people you have even managed to make friends with. And with that in mind, don’t ever……never….. ever…. bring up your funnel hose Urinal again.
I’m embarrassed for you, I’m embarrassed for Lynda, I’m embarrassed for your whole GOD DAMN Family!

Please………. Call the Man! Rent a studio! Hell, rent a Port-A-Potty.

If you ever want to do another interview with anyone short of Lassie, you will heed my warning.

You know I shouldn’t have to tell you this, Right?

Hey Mark ol boy it’s Shane. I have a great book my mother sent to me. The Films of Elvis Presley. It covers each film with two pages. Facts, brief of the film, cast list etc. It is just a cool compact info book I would like to send you for your enjoyment.

If I can send it let me know where.

Also I was impressed with the skills in painting and the ability your old shaking, former drinkin, weed smokin, dick pullin, sandwich grippin hands have! Nice work, honest engine. Shane.
